You might have heard of the guasha, it is a Chinese beauty tool used to massage/scrape your face and body. The benefits of using a guasha are the following: it helps relieve tension in the face, promote blood circulation, improves appearance of fine lines and dark circles, reduce puffiness and inflammation. Sounds amazing right? If you haven’t picked up a guasha yet or this is your first time hearing about it, don’t worry! In this blog post we will show you how to use a guasha and what you need to get started.
How to use the guasha
The great thing about guasha’s is the versatility. You can use the guasha everywhere. You can use it on your upper body, your neck, your face, your back etc. So what do you need to get started? It is quite simple, you only need a guasha and some some sort of lubricant to make sure your skin is not dry. Many people use facial oils, but you can also use serums or a moisturizer.
After you have applied your oil or moisturizer, you can start “scraping” your skin with the guasha. You use the curved side of the guasha to gently slide it across your skin. The most important part of using the guasha is always scraping upwards , never downwards, to prevent sagging of the skin. for example, start with your cheeks and gently slide your guasha towards your temples.
However when you want to use the guasha on your neck, you bring the guasha downwards. According to the Chinese, you will to drain the toxins and fluid from your face like this.
Looking for a skin boost?
When using the guasha, you need to make sure the skin is lubricated. This makes sure that you are not dragging the guasha on dry skin which can cause wrinkles and irritation. You don’t have to use oils when using guasha, you can even use a serum! The ultimate boost for your skin is starting with a sheet mask and then using the guasha to massage the leftover serum into your skin. Your skin will love it!
