The EGGXPERT's journey
The story of EGGXPERT began with an unexpected conversation between a chemist, Dr. Rong Wang and a product engineer, Chang Liu, who met on a bus ride to their work at University of Maastricht. They realized that the massive amount of eggshell waste generated daily in The Netherlands could be transformed into something valuable both from scientific perspective and their cultural background in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). They embarked on a mission to upcycle eggshells into sustainable products since then.

Ultimately, of all processed eggs in the Europe, approximately 215,000 to 260,000 tons of eggshells ending up in landfills across the EU each year.
